Porsche Supercup runner-up Larry ten Voorde will contest the Shanghai round of the FIA World Endurance Championship with the Team Project 1 GTE-Am squad.

The 23-year-old Dutch racer is currently second to Michael Ammermuller in the Supercup standings and also finished third to Ammermuller and factory junior asset Julien Andlauer in Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland.

Ten Voorde will drive Project 1’s No. 57 Porsche 911 RSR in the third round of the 2019-20 season as a replacement for Felipe Fraga.

Brazil’s Fraga, who is the team’s Silver-rated pilot, is unable to contest the Shanghai and Bahrain races because of date clashes with the Stock Car Brasil series.

Ten Voorde is therefore set to make his WEC debut, sharing the car with Ben Keating and Jeroen Bleekemolen.

Despite his lack of GTE experience, ten Voorde is familiar with the Project 1 outfit having contested the 2018 Supercup and Carrera Cup Deutschland seasons with the team.
