Porsche has topped the time charts again in Free Practice 3, with the pair of 919 Hybrids leading the way in the final practice session prior to qualifying for Saturday’s FIA WEC Six Hours of Spa.

Timo Bernhard reeled off a quick lap of 1:56.465 to go quickest in the 60-minute session, outpacing out the sister No. 2 entry of Neel Jani by a considerable 1.698 seconds.

Given the large gap, the No. 1 Porsche appears to have been on a qualifying simulation lap.

The No. 6 Toyota TS050 Hybrid of Kamui Kobayashi was third, ahead of the No. 7 Audi R18 in fourth and the sister No. 5 Toyota completing the top-five.

There was more trouble for the No. 8 Audi, which returned to the track for the first time since FP1 after mechanical issues on Thursday.

Contact between Loic Duval and the No. 78 KCMG Porsche 911 RSR of Christian Ried halfway through the session resulted in a trip back to the garage for the No. 8 Audi.

The car returned to action in the hands of Oliver Jarvis and ended up 6th on the overall time sheets.

G-Drive Racing (LMP2), AF Corse (GTE-Pro) and Aston Martin Racing (GTE-Am) led the way in their respective classes.

Qualifying gets underway at 4:05 p.m. local time.
