Following a day dominated by Toyota, Porsche showed the way in Free Practice 3 at Shanghai, as FIA WEC teams prepare for qualifying for the Six Hours of Shanghai.

Brendon Hartley topped the time sheets in the dry 60-minute session, reeling off a best lap of 1:48.173 in his No. 20 Porsche 919 Hybrid.

Hartley’s time was 0.244 seconds quicker than Friday’s pace-setting No. 8 Toyota TS040 Hybrid of Anthony Davidson, with the sister No. 7 Toyota completing the top-three overall and in LMP1-H.

G-Drive Racing (LMP2) and Aston Martin Racing (GTE-Pro and GTE-Am) led their respective classes, with the No. 95 Young Driver-backed Aston Martin Vantage GTE-Am entry quickest of the GTE contenders overall.

The session saw two Full Course Yellows, the first as a practice exercise and the second for the No. 37 SMP Racing Oreca 03R Nissan of Victor Shaitar, who went off in Turn 2.

Qualifying is on tap for 1:20 p.m. local.
