Reigning FIA WEC GTE-Am Champion Kristian Poulsen has been confirmed as the third and final driver in Larbre Competition’s Corvette C7.R this year.
The Silver-rated Dane joins the previously announced Paolo Ruberti and Gianluca Roda in the GTE-Am class entry, marking the first customer Corvette C7.R in worldwide competition.
“We’re delighted to welcome one of the reigning GTE Am champions, Kristian Poulsen, to our team,” said team principal Jack Leconte.
“As for Gianluca Roda and Paolo Ruberti, we’re obviously familiar with their talent behind the wheel seeing as the pair of them finished just behind us two years in a row in both ILMC and WEC.
“All in all, we’re delighted with the strength and consistency of our 2015 crew.”
All three drivers were on hand this week for a GM-sponsored test at Sebring International Raceway, which saw the No. 50 Larbre Corvette run alongside the two factory TUDOR United SportsCar Championship entries.
“The car felt really good, everything went very smoothly and there were no problems,” Poulsen said.
“The team looks really strong this year and my co-drivers have a lot of experience, so hopefully we have a good chance of winning some races, and perhaps even Le Mans and the championship.”
Prior to the test, the French squad visited Pratt & Miller in Detroit to learn more about the car’s build and collect data ahead of the season, which kicks off next month at Silverstone.
Despite not initially being on the entry list, Larbre has confirmed its presence for the mandatory Prologue pre-season test on March 27-28.
