Team Project 1 will contest its second 24 Hours of Le Mans with a special ‘art car’ livery designed by American artist Richard Phillips.

The team’s No. 56 Porsche 911 RSR, which bears a multicoloured design encompassing some of Phillips’ prior works, was unveiled ahead of tomorrow’s pre-event Test Day.

The piece was created in co-operation with Porsche Digital using the ‘Second Skin’ wrapping technique that will soon be available to Porsche customers worldwide.

“Art Cars have a long history in Le Mans and this stunning design continues the story”, said team manager Axel Funke.

“Our first season in the World Endurance Championship has been a special one for all of us and we’re all the more excited about presenting our fans and partners with another highlight for the most important race of the year.”

Phillips added: “This is a great chance to display my art in a completely new way.

“I decided to combine three works for this Le Mans design. That’s a new aspect and shows how everything in terms of car design can be transposed and put into practice. I’m very proud of the result and hope to provide fans with a lot of pleasure.”

Project 1 currently leads the GTE-Am championship heading into the Le Mans season finale, with its drivers Egidio Perfetti, Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Lindsey holding a 23-point lead over the Spirit of Race Ferrari crew.
