Having spent last year contesting the Blancpain Endurance Series, International GT Open and select rounds of the FIA WEC, the 27-year-old Italian driver will continue his relationship with Ferrari over the next two seasons, including a drive in one of AF Corse’s Ferrari 458 Italia cars in GTE-Pro.

In parallel, Rigon will continue to be a part of the Italian manufacturer’s testing program on the Ferrari F1 simulator.

“It’s a dream come true every day,” Rigon said. “Scuderia Ferrari is my second family and it’s very satisfying to be working with the most important team in the world.

“I’m looking forward to the first race. Being able to run in the FIA WEC is a great achievement and to do it with the championship-winning Ferrari 458 makes it even more special. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the icing on the cake.”

Rigon drove in select rounds of the FIA WEC last year in the AF Corse-run 8Star Motorsports Ferrari in GTE-Am. It included a class win in Shanghai that helped take the American-backed effort to the teams’ championship.

The rising star kicked off his 2014 season at Daytona in one of the AF Corse-run GTD Ferraris from Spirit of Race.

“Daytona was a great experience,” Rigon said. “I want to thank Ferrari for giving me this opportunity to be able to experience these new races. I found the 458 Italia comfortable to ride and I was happy with my drive. I didn’t make any mistakes despite heavy traffic with more than 60 cars on the track. ”

It’s not yet clear who Rigon’s co-driver will be at AF Corse, although it’s expected he will take controls of the No. 71 Ferrari with Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander in the No. 51 Prancing Horse.
