Liam Talbot will join D’station Racing during the 8 Hours of Bahrain due to “unavoidable schedule conflicts” for Bronze-rated driver Satoshi Hoshino.
Talbot steps into the lineup of the No. 777 Aston Martin Vantage AMR, teaming up with Casper Stevenson and Tomonobu Fujii for the eight-hour finale to the FIA World Endurance Championship season.
It will mark the Australian driver’s first WEC appearance, although he has competed in the Asian Le Mans Series several times in previous years. He most recently teamed with Jules Gounon and Ollie Millroy in a HubAuto Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo earlier this year.
He also contributed to HubAuto’s 2019-20 GT title success that earned the team an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Talbot currently leads the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS standings with one race remaining and took a Pro-Am class win in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour in February.
D’station, meanwhile, has endured a challenging campaign, scoring four points to leave it last in the GTE-Am standings. The Bahrain season finale marks the final appearance for the GTE-Am class, before it will be replaced by LMGT3 next year.
