TF Sport is set to run two Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs in the FIA World Endurance Championship next year after five seasons with Aston Martin that included a GTE-Am class title.

The British squad on Wednesday announced that it will switch manufacturers for the WEC’s transition to GT3-based regulations, utilizing the new customer-focused Corvette.

TF Sport joined the championship in 2018-19 and had a successful stint with the Aston Martin Vantage GTE, winning the GTE-Am class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2020 and last year.

It also won the 2022 title with Ben Keating and Marco Sorensen, who teamed up with Henrique Chaves for most of the campaign.

Drivers for the Chevrolet customer program are yet to be revealed.

A TF Sport spokesperson confirmed to Sportscar365 that although the team is moving away from Aston Martin in the WEC, it will retain its stable of Vantage GT3s for use in other series.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to represent such an iconic brand on the world stage,” said team principal Tom Ferrier.

“Corvette Racing has an immense history at Le Mans and we will be looking to continue that run of success.

“I’d like to thank everyone at Aston Martin Racing for the support and success we have had over the past six years and seven Le Mans but now I feel the time is right for a new challenge in the WEC.

“We still have a job to do in this year’s WEC, now lying second in the championship, and will give it our all to finish on a high.”

TF Sport is the second team to be confirmed as running the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R next year.

The manufacturer last weekend announced the formation of the works-supported Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports team that will field two cars in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro class.

“We are excited to welcome TF Sport to the Corvette Racing family,” said Z06 GT3.R program manager Christie Bagne.

“Tom Ferrier and his organization showcase the elements we were looking for in a team to run our Corvette Z06 GT3.R in the FIA WEC – a first-class operation, strong collaboration and a history of success.

“We look forward to working with Tom and his team to make the Z06 GT3.R a success in the WEC and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024 and beyond.”

TF Sport’s pair of planned entries with the Corvette will be subject to WEC approval, although Chevrolet is expected to feature on the LMGT3 grid courtesy of sister GM brand Cadillac being present in Hypercar.
