Cadillac Racing’s plans to run two drivers only in its Hypercar entry for this month’s FIA World Endurance Championship round at Imola have been confirmed.

An entry list for the 6 Hours of Imola released on Tuesday shows only full-timers Alex Lynn and Earl Bamber listed to drive the Chip Ganassi Racing-run No. 2 Cadillac V-Series.R, with no third driver named as expected.

Cadillac contested the season-opening Qatar 1812km with CGR IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship regular Sebastien Bourdais as the third driver alongside Lynn and Bamber, the trio finishing fourth before their disqualification.

At the time, the American manufacturer’s statement said it would name a third driver “ahead of certain endurance races”, likely a reference to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 8 Hours of Bahrain at the end of the season.

Cadillac has since named Alex Palou as the third driver for the No. 2 car for Le Mans.

Neither Bourdais nor his CGR IMSA teammate Renger van der Zande are available for Imola due to a clash with the WeatherTech Championship’s visit to Long Beach, while the following WEC race at Spa falls on the same weekend as the Laguna Seca IMSA round.

Besides the omission of Bourdais, the 6H Imola entry list contains no other changes from the Qatar opener, with 37 cars entered across the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes.

Free practice for the 6H Imola begins on April 19 ahead of the race itself on April 21.
