Vandoorne to Exit Peugeot After Fuji Race

Peugeot has revealed that Stoffel Vandoorne will leave the team following the conclusion of this weekend’s 6 Hours of Fuji.

Vandoorne will not be back in the No. 93 car for the final two rounds of the current FIA World Endurance Championship season at Barcelona and Monza, as confirmed by the French marque in a brief communication to the media on Saturday.

It comes as the Belgian driver prepares to join Jaguar TCS Racing for his return to full-time Formula E competition for the 2026/27 season.

Peugeot has not confirmed who will replace Vandoorne in its lineup for the remaining races of the season, but reserve driver Alex Quinn is expected to step up to make what would be his Hypercar race debut next month at Barcelona.

Quinn, who is expected to be part of the 2027 Peugeot lineup, was among the drivers in action for the French marque’s recent endurance test at Portimao along with Robert Shwartzman, who was confirmed to be joining the team earlier this month.

Vandoorne is expected to be one of three current Peugeot drivers not to return next season alongside McLaren-bound Malthe Jakobsen and Theo Pourchaire, who will step back to focus on his Formula E commitments for sister brand Opel.

Pourchaire will share a garage at Opel with Mitch Evans, whose place Vandoorne will take in the all-electric series.

Vandoorne also bade farewell to Peugeot after last year’s Fuji race, amid widespread expectation that he would join Genesis Magma Racing, only to be recalled for the 2026 campaign when talks with the Korean marque failed to reach a deal.
