While the six drivers for its full-season lineup were confirmed this morning, Toyota is testing three additional pilots this week, possibly for the test and reserve driver role for its LMP1 program in the FIA World Endurance Championship. (En Français)

Jean-Eric Vergne, Kamui Kobayashi and Mathias Beche are all reportedly at Motorland Aragon this week alongside the team’s No. 2 Toyota TS040 Hybrid lineup of Mike Conway, Stephane Sarrazin and Alex Wurz as the Japanese manufacturer continues testing its 2015-spec prototype contender.

No official word has come from Toyota on the reason for its test with the three prospective new drivers. However, it was announced during this morning’s 2015 presentation that it will finalize its new test and reserve driver, previously held by Conway, in the coming weeks.

Toyota’s Pascal Vasselon ruled out the addition of a third TS040 Hybrid for the 24 Hours of Le Mans late last year.
