G-Drive Racing’s FIA WEC LMP2 championship is very likely over following a race-ending crash for Olivier Pla in the early stages of the Six Hours of Sao Paulo.
Pla suffered a suspected mechanical issue while under braking into Turn 1 and slammed his Ligier JS P2 Nissan hard into the wall.
The Frenchman was uninjured but it resulted in a retirement for the Russian-backed squad and gives the No. 27 SMP Racing Oreca 03R Nissan the championship, should it finish the race.
