The GTE-Am class leading No. 98 Aston Martin Vantage has crashed out of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, just 45 minutes from the end of the race.

On his 322nd lap Paul Dalla Lana crashed into the barrier at the Ford Chicane at high speed.

The Aston Martin didn’t seem to brake and veered to the left straight into the barriers. Dalla Lana got out of the wrecked car under his own power.

Victor Shaytar, driving the No. 72 SMP Racing Ferrari, has inherited the GTE-Am class lead, while the accident means Scuderia Corsa will move up into third place.
