D’station Racing has finalized its FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Am driver lineup with the signing of Andrew Watson, who drove for Gulf Racing last season.

Watson, 26, joins the previously-announced Tomonobu Fujii and Satoshi Hoshino in the crew of the TF Sport-run No. 777 Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

Last year Watson finished fifth in the GTE-Am class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Porsche 911 RSR run by Gulf Racing, which he represented in all but one of the 2019-20 WEC rounds.

He also competed in the 2020 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup with Aston Martin customer squad Garage 59, racing in Silver Cup.

The 2021 WEC campaign with D’station will net Watson his first experience competing in the GTE version of the Vantage.

“We have been watching Andrew in GT racing over the last few seasons and have been impressed by his progress, so it’s great to have him on board for D’station Racing’s WEC debut,” said TF Sport team principal Tom Ferrier.

“Having already stepped on the WEC podium, we are positive that Andrew will be a valuable asset to the lineup, and can help in a strong first season for the Japanese entry.”
