Team Project 1 has unveiled a new livery for its No. 57 Porsche 911 RSR that will be run in the next two FIA World Endurance Championship races featuring the iconic Wynn’s colors.
The automotive additive company, which has been a backer of Ben Keating’s motorsports activities for more than a year, will sponsor the German squad’s GTE-Am entry, co-driven by Keating, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Felipe Fraga in this weekend’s Lone Star Le Mans as well as the 1000 Miles of Sebring in March.
The predominately purple livery, made famous on the Hotchkis Racing Porsche 962 in the 1980s, was rekindled last year during IMSA’s 50th anniversary celebrations that resulted in Keating joining forces with Wynn’s for its IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mercedes-AMG GT3 program.
Wynn’s also sponsored Keating’s Ford GT at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which lost its class win to Project 1 due to technical infractions found post-race.
Sportscar365 understands that the No. 57 Porsche could also be in Wynn’s colors for the season-ending round at Le Mans this year.
Keating and Bleekemolen enter this weekend’s fifth WEC round tied for the lead of the GTE-Am drivers’ championship following a class win last time out in the 8 Hours of Bahrain.
We have a livery change for both FIA WEC US races – With our Official Partner Wynn´s. For this, the Porsche 911 RSR No.57 will adopt the additive manufacturer’s distinctive colours. The car looks great! What do you think? 😉😍🔥 #teamproject1 #wynns #OneTeam pic.twitter.com/p1pLTJLvKO
