Dinamic Motorsport’s lead Porsche 911 GT3 R has been withdrawn from the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai after a shipping delay that has also affected Mercedes-AMG.
The No. 27 Porsche 911 GT3 R was set to be Dinamic’s only GT3 Pro entry alongside its pair of GT3 Am cars in the first multi-car GT3 race for the Italian team.
The chassis was set to be shipped directly from South Africa to Dubai after the Kyalami 9 Hour in November but problems en route, which are understood to involve an engine failure for the ship, caused it to be rerouted to Sri Lanka.
It’s understood the earliest the ship could arrive in Dubai is Saturday, after the race takes place.
Mercedes-AMG has also been caught up in the delay, with its spare parts container on the same ship.
Sportscar365 understands that the manufacturer has sourced some parts from Abu Dhabi while air-freighting other essential items in from Germany.
The Dinamic car was set to be driven by the team’s main lineup from last year – Andrea Rizzoli, Zaid Ashkanani and Klaus Bachler – along with Stanislav Minsky and Mikkel Overgaard Pedersen.
Pedersen has since moved to one of Dinamic’s two remaining Am cars, replacing Alberto Cerqui.
