Stolz Quickest in Dubai Free Practice

Al Manar Racing by HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo tops 90-minute Free Practice session…

The No. 777 Al Manar Racing by HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Luca Stolz led the way in Free Practice for the Hankook 24H Dubai, in a session interrupted by a red flag and multiple Code 60s.

Stolz reeled off a best lap of 1:59.022 to edge out the No. 92 Herberth Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R of Sven Mueller by 0.764 seconds.

The No. 31 WRT Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo was third on the time sheets, followed by the GT3 Pro-Am class pace-setting No. 83 Racetivity Mercedes of Matthieu Vaxiviere in fourth.

HRT’s No. 4 entry made it three Mercedes in the top five, followed by the No. 7 MS7 by WRT Audi in sixth and the No. 93 DUWO Racing by Herberth Motorsport Porsche in seventh.

The pair of Dinamic Motorsport Porsches were eighth and ninth with the No. 19 MP Motorsport Mercedes completing the top-ten overall.

CP Racing’s Mercedes was the quickest GT3 Am contender in 11th overall while the No. 993 Team GP-Elite Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car was quickest in the 992-Pro class.

GT4 was paced by the No. 401 PROsport Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4, with the No. 278 CWS Engineering Ginetta G55 was quickest of the TCE competitors.

The 90-minute session saw two Code 60s, the first for the No. 450 RHC Jorgensen-Strom by Century BMW M4 GT4 followed by an accident for the No. 451 Team Avia Sorg Rennsport BMW.

A session-ending red flag was called with less than five minutes on the clock.

Qualifying for TCE competitors gets underway at 2:35 p.m. local time followed by GT qualifying at 3:35 p.m. with live coverage on the 24H Series’ YouTube page.
