Audi Quickest Again in Practice 3 at Bathurst

The No. 74 Melbourne Performance Centre Audi R8 LMS topped the time charts yet again, but this time with Christopher Mies at the wheel, in Practice 3 for Sunday’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

Mies’ 2:03.500 lap time was quickest of the 90-minute session, 0.433 seconds ahead of the No. 59 Tekno Autosports McLaren 650S GT3 in second and the No. 36 Erebus Motorspor Mercedes-SLS AMG GT3 in third.

The No. 11 Objective Racing McLaren led the way in GT3-Am with the fourth quickest time overall and the No. 75 Melbourne Audi completed the top-five.

Earl Bamber led the way in Group B in his Grove Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, while the No. 65 Daytona Sportscar Coupe was quickest in Class I.

There were three red flags during the session, which was extended 25 minutes.

The first red for the No. 94 MARC Cars Australia Mazda 3 V8, which slammed the wall, followed by an off-course excursion for the No. 9 Melbourne Performance Centre Audi and an incident for the No. 93 MARC Cars Ford V8.

The final 90-minute practice session of the day gets underway at 3:45 p.m. local time.
