A late flyer by Steven Kane has put Bentley on top of the time sheets following the opening day of on-track activity for Sunday’s Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

Kane was quickest in Friday’s fourth and final practice session, reeling off a 2:03.233 lap time in his No. 10 Bentley Continental GT3. The time stood as quickest of the day.

It was 0.070 seconds quicker than the No. 60 Tekno Autosports McLaren 650S GT3 in second, with the No. 2 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS completing the top-three, less than one-tenth behind.

The defending race-winning Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 was fourth, with Chrisopher Hasse making a late improvement to put his No. 74 Melbourne Performance Centre Audi in fifth, after pacing both of the earlier sessions.

The top eight quickest times in Practice 4 came from GT3-Pro-Am class cars, with the No. 32 Lago Motorsport Lamborghini Gallardo the quickest of the Am entries in 9th overall.

The No. 65 Sportscar Coupe was quickest in Class I, ahead of the Class B pace-setting No. 38 Wall Racing 911 GT3 Cup S.

The session saw two red flags, the first for the No. 59 Tekno Autosports McLaren 650S GT3 of Shane van Gisbergen, who had an off-course excursion, as well as an incident for the No. 38 Wall Racing Porsche.

Final practice is set for 8:30 a.m. local time, followed by qualifying in the early afternoon.

RESULTS: Practice 4
