Open-wheel ace Ed Jones is among the drivers that will take part in next week’s DTM rookie test in Jerez for Audi.

The 24-year-old, who spent the last three years in the NTT IndyCar Series, is set to turn laps in an Audi RS 5 DTM car at Jerez de la Frontera in the three-day test that gets underway on Wednesday.

Jones most recently competed for the Ed Carpenter Racing-run, Scuderia Corsa-backed effort in IndyCar, although will not return to the team next year.

The UAE native will be joined by 2019 Audi Sport Seyffarth R8 LMS Cup champion Robin Rogalski and FIA Formula 3 driver Fabio Scherer as rookie drivers for the Dec. 11-13 test.

Reigning DTM champion Rene Rast as well as fellow works driver Nico Mueller will also be in attendance, alongside 21-year-old Jonathan Aberdein, who made his series debut with the customer WRT squad this year.

Newly crowned ADAC GT Masters champion Kelvin van der Linde, whose name was originally listed in Audi’s release, will not be part of the test due to an error in the initial release.

The six Audi drivers will be joined by former Williams Formula 1 ace Robert Kubica and GT racer Nick Yelloly, for BMW, in the test.
