Jules Gounon will make his DTM debut at this weekend’s Hockenheim finale, replacing Luca Stolz.

The Haupt Racing Team driver, who scored his first victory of the season at the Sachsenring, is unable to compete due to health reasons, according to the team.

Instead, fellow Mercedes-AMG factory driver Gounon will pilot the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for the season finale, which will mark the first time the Andorran has competed in the German sprint series.

The 29-year-old is fresh off a victory in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup finale at Barcelona.

Mercedes-AMG, meanwhile, heads into the season finale in the lead of the manufacturers’ championships standings, holding a 24-point advantage over Lamborghini.
