Ayhancan Guven is set to make his DTM debut at next month’s Norisring round, filling in for Nick Cassidy at the AlphaTauri AF Corse team.

The Turkish driver, who is a Red Bull athlete, will drive Cassidy’s Ferrari 488 GTE Evo 2020 for the only street race of the season.

Cassidy is unable to compete at the Norisring because the event clashes with the Marrakesh ePrix, the tenth round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

It marks the second time that the Envision Racing driver missed a DTM race due to a Formula E clash.

Nine-time World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb subbed in for the New Zealander during the Portimao season opener, which clashed with the Monaco ePrix.

This should be the second and final time that Cassidy has to miss a DTM round due to a clash with Formula E.

However, it is a possibility that he could also miss the Spa races as his AF Corse GTE-Am squad will be contesting the FIA World Endurance Championship round in Fuji on the same weekend.

Guven, 24, has spent most of his career racing Porsche machinery, as he also has an ongoing affiliation with the Stuttgart manufacturer.

Prior to stepping up to the ADAC GT Masters, where he currently competes, he took multiple race victories in the Porsche Supercup. He also took back-to-back titles in the Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2018 and 2019.
