Earl Bamber is out front in the Nürburgring 24 after the first eight hours have been completed, with Manthey Racing continuing its dominance of the race so far.

The Kiwi is currently in the No. 911 Porsche 911 GT3 R which has completed 53 laps of the Nordschleife as the race reaches one-third distance.

He shares the leading car with Kevin Estre, Romain Dumas and Lauren Vanthoor, all of whom have completed their first stints in the car, while Bamber is behind the wheel for the second time and doing the car’s first double stint of the race.

Frederic Makowiecki is running in second with a Manthey 1-2 currently, although the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG Team Black Falcon car has just dropped out of second position with a pit stop.

Dirk Mueller is in the highest-placed Mercedes, running in fourth position behind Darren Turner’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

The race has been fairly incident-free following Dries Vanthoor’s heavy crash shortly before the six-hour mark.
