With damp and overcast conditions, the second qualifying session at the Nürburgring saw minimal improvements, in the final opportunity to lay down a quick lap prior to this afternoon’s Top-30 Qualifying shootout.

The No. 69 Dorr Motorsport McLaren MP4-12C retained provisional pole thanks to Rudi Adams’ 8:18.513 lap yesterday evening. He was followed by the Phoenix and Audi Race Experience Audi R8 LMS ultras in second and third, respectively, with times that were also set on Thursday.

Among this morning’s improvements included the No. 23 Rowe Racing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, which moved into 11th overall with a 8:29.002 lap time, as well as the No. 17 G-Drive Racing Audi, which clocked a 8:31.700 lap to also make the shootout.

Both the No. 1 Black Falcon Mercedes and the No. 7 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3, meanwhile, also turned quick laps following issues in last night’s dry-turned wet qualifying session.

Of the notable SP9 cars not to make the Top-30 was the No. 12 Manthey Racing Porsche of Otto Klohs, Philipp Frommenwiler, Harald Schlotter and Jens Richter.

The Top-30 Qualifying shootout is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. local.
