Raffaele Marciello led a wet weather-affected third qualifying practice session for the Nürburgring 24 in the No. 9 GetsSpeed Performance Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
The Italian set a time of 9:29.877 to lead the 60-minute session by just over two seconds from Dennis Olsen in the No. 18 KCMG Porsche 911 GT3 R.
GetSpeed enjoyed the wet third qualifying practice as the team’s No. 8 Pro-Am Mercedes-AMG rose to third overall courtesy of Matthieu Vaxivire’s 9:34.014.
Kim-Luis Schramm was fourth-fastest on a 9:37.618 in the No. 5 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo, narrowly beating Klaus Bachler in the best of the Falken Motorsports Porsches.
Falken’s other Porsche which crashed last night in the hands of Peter Dumbreck returned to action following overnight repairs from the team.
Both Dumbreck and Ragginger turned laps, with the latter driver setting the car’s best time of 9:53.853.
Haupt Racing Team’s No. 2 Mercedes-AMG that crashed and triggered a red flag to end the second qualifying practice session has not yet come back out onto the track.
The fastest lap of the weekend continues to be the 8:11.428 set by Konrad Motorsport Lamborghini driver Marco Mapelli during Thursday’s opening session, while this looks unlikely to be defeated with rain forecast for the rest of the event.
Top Qualifying 1 is set to start at 5:50 p.m. CEST (11:50 a.m. EST) and the top four cars from that session will advance to Top Qualifying 2 which will determine the overall pole.
