The Nürburgring 24 has been red-flagged for worsening track conditions with three-and-a-half hours remaining on the clock.

Fog, which has descended upon the Eifel reigon, has caused visibility issues at portions of the 15-mile circuit, prompting race officials to suspend the race.

All cars have returned to pit lane, with teams allowed to work on their cars during the red flag period.

The No. 4 Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Maro Engel currently leads the race, nearly five minutes ahead of the No. 912 Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R of Fred Makowiecki.

Makowiecki lost the lead earlier in the hour due to serving a three-minute and 32-second stop-and-hold penalty for a Code 60 speeding violation.

Black Falcon’s sister No. 6 Mercedes, meanwhile, runs in third, ahead of the Maxime Martin-driven No. 007 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 in fourth.

Should the race resume, it’s understood the running order will be reverted to the previous completed lap.
