Robert Renauer has won this year’s Porsche Cup, the trophy awarded to the world’s most successful privateer Porsche driver.
The 31-year-old German, who competed in ADAC GT Masters, the European Le Mans Series as well as Creventic’s 24H Series in 911 machinery, earned 7,355 points over the course of the year.
Renauer, who wins a Porsche 911 road car valued at 120,000 Euros, edged out Christian Ried for the trophy.
Runner-up Ried claimed prize money totaling 30,000 Euros for his involvement in the FIA World Endurance Championship and ELMS with his Proton Competition-run operation.
Daniel Diaz-Varela, meanwhile, finished third in this year’s Porsche Cup, which has been awarded since 1970.
Renauer succeeds 2015 Porsche Cup winner Ryan Dalziel, who helped take the EFFORT Racing Porsche operation to the Pirelli World Challenge GT Teams’ Championship that year.
