Earl Bamber Motorsport has revealed a second wildcard entry for next week’s Sepang SUPER GT round, with Dorian Boccolacci and Adrian D’Silva sharing a Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Malaysian driver D’Silva and Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver will team up in the No. 611 car that becomes the second confirmed additional entry for the race, alongside the EBM Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo effort announced in April.

It will mark both drivers’ debut in SUPER GT, although they bring considerable experience of the track across various GT3-based categories.

The No. 611 Porsche will be equipped with Michelin tires.

“For me it will be the first time in the SUPER GT, and even though it will be the same car, the tires will be different,” said Boccolacci. “It will be interesting because also here it’s like nobody has the same tires, a bit like NLS with Falken.

“I already have some experience with the NLS for working on the tires. I did two days of testing and everything went well. I will need to get used to the championship, but Sepang is a track I know well.

“I did a lot of testing and racing there, and if you are discovering a new championship for the first time, it’s good if you know the track.”

The entry list for the Sepang round, revealed on Monday, confirms a 34-car grid with a reduced field of 19 GT300 runners owing to tight restrictions on pit lane space.

There is no replacement for Shade Racing’s Toyota GR86 GT, which was damaged in a fire in a test at Suzuka last month.

Apr boss Hiroto Kaneso told Sportscar365 last month he expects Shade to be back for the following round of the season at Fuji Speedway in early August.

EBM’s Aston Martin, which will be shared by Jazeman Jaafar and Kerong Li, has switched from Michelin to Dunlop tires.

Goodsmile Racing’s Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo will be driven by Yuhki Nakayama and Shunji Okumoto in the absence of regulars Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka, who are away on CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa duty.

Jamie Klein is Sportscar365's Asian editor. Japan-based Klein, who previously worked for Motorsport Network on the Motorsport.cоm and Autosport titles, covers the FIA World Endurance Championship and SUPER GT, among other series.
