Team Sofrev-ASP Becomes Team AKKA-ASP

One of France’s leading GT squads will have a new name in 2015, as Team Sofrev-ASP will now be known as Team AKKA-ASP, thanks to a new title sponsorship agreement with AKKA Technologies, an international engineering and consulting group.

The Jerome Policand-owned operation, which was founded in 1999 under the Team Auto Sport Promotion banner, has claimed no fewer than 12 championships in Porsche Carrera Cup and seven titles in GT championships.

The team plans a dual-season effort between the newly reconfigured French GT Championship, where it will enter three Ferrari 458 Italia GT3s, while also continuing an international program, either in the European Le Mans Series or Blancpain Endurance Series.

Among the driver strength in its already confirmed French GT program includes former Formula One star Olivier Panis and French soccer star Fabien Barthez.

What’s already confirmed is that the team will be present at the Total 24 Hours of Spa in July.
