RealTime Racing has confirmed that it will join the Blancpain GT World Challenge America grid later this season with an Acura NSX GT3 Evo for Dane Cameron and Bret Curtis.

The Wisconsin-based team first entered the NSX GT3 in 2017 in a double-pronged Sprint and SprintX campaign, before switching to a Honda Civic Type R TCR last year.

RealTime, which has chalked up a total of 15 World Challenge series titles since its formation in 1987, is set for its 26th consecutive season in the series, now under the SRO Motorsports America umbrella.

The team is expected to be on the Blancpain GT America grid for Round 2 held at VIR in late April.

2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar prototype champion and current Acura Team Penske driver Cameron will partner Bret Curtis in the GT3 Pro-Am class effort.

Curtis is a new addition to RealTime, while Cameron previously raced the team’s Acura GT3 in the California 8 Hours before signing for Penske’s Acura DPi program.

“I’m thrilled to be back with RealTime,” said Cameron. “My first experience with Acura was with them a couple years ago and it was a lot of fun.

“I’m happy to be back with Bret again too. I did some driver coaching with him a few years ago and he’s a great guy that puts a lot of work into his craft.

“I think we make for a strong pairing that can definitely win races. With RealTime’s support, we’ll have all the ingredients we need to be successful.”

Curtis, who was briefly Cameron’s co-driver at Turner Motorsport in 2015, described joining RealTime as an “incredible honor”.

“I’ve seen RTR run successfully and earn many championships in World Challenge over the years, so joining them is an incredible honor,” he said.

“I’m also incredibly privileged to be sharing the car with Dane [who] is an amazing talent and has already won some important championships and I’m sure he has many to come.

“Dane and I worked successfully together in 2015, so I feel really comfortable and very eager to work with him again in 2019.”

Confirmation of RealTime’s return to GT3 racing brings the total number of NSX GT3 Evos to three in the series.
