Attempto Racing set the pace in wet conditions during Friday afternoon’s opening session of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup weekend at Misano.

A best time of 1:54.661 put the No. 55 Attempto Audi R8 LMS GT3, which is driven by Pieter Schothorst and Pierre Kaffer, on top in the 80-minute session.

It was the first wet session of the Blancpain GT season, preventing much running and making lap times over 20 seconds slower than at last year’s event.

Grasser Racing Team’s Ezequiel Perez Companc posted the second-quickest time in the No. 19 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 while Audis locked out the remaining spots in the top five.

The No. 17 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT entry of Stuart Leonard and Sheldon van der Linde was quickest in the Silver Cup from fourth overall.

Newcomer Audi Sport Slovakia led the way in Pro-Am, meanwhile, with its Audi driven by Christian and Jirko Malcharek.

Fifteen of the 22 cars entered set flying laps during the session while the Emil Frey Racing Jaguar G3 was the most active car with 16 laps completed.

Free Practice 2 is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. and is set to be held under dry conditions.

RESULTS: Free Practice 1
