Kelvin van der Linde went quickest in Free Practice 2 for the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup round at Misano on Friday evening as weather conditions improved.

The South African driver posted a best time of 1:34.280 in the No. 66 Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 as the first competitive lap times of the weekend were set.

This came after this afternoon’s opening FP1 was rained out, preventing cars from completing much running on the Italian circuit.

Franck Perera was the second-quickest driver, setting a best time almost seven-tenths down in his No. 82 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 run by Grasser Racing Team.

The remainder of the top ten was made up by Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, Sainteloc Racing, AKKA ASP and the other Attempto car.

The Sainteloc Audi of Markus Winkelhock and Nyls Stievenart topped the Pro-Am category in fifth overall while Nico Jamin and Denis Bulatov put AKKA ASP’s No. 87 Mercedes-AMG GT3 on top in the Silver Cup.

Qualifying will get underway at 1:50 p.m. local time on Saturday ahead of Race 1 at 7:40 p.m. Both will be streamed live on the series’ website and GT World YouTube channel.

RESULTS: Free Practice 2
