The SRO Motorsports Group has revealed a largely unchanged 2019 schedule for the British GT Championship and the eligibility of its new GT2 class in the series.

British GT will again compete on seven race weekends, with unchanged events at Oulton Park, Snetterton, Silverstone, Spa, Brands Hatch and Donington Park.

A TBA race is currently set for June 22-23, effectively replacing the two-hour race at Rockingham, which usually takes place on the last weekend of April.

The Northamptonshire roval is understood to be under consideration, along with other options, although the location is expected to be within the UK, rather than the addition of a second international race.

The SRO’s new GT2 formula will be included alongside existing GT3 and GT4 fields, reserved for all-Am driver lineups.

A total of 16 places have been reserved for full-season entries in GT2 and GT3, along with 20 GT4 cars.

Five-Round Blancpain GT Sports Club Schedule Unveiled

A five-round schedule has also been revealed for the Blancpain GT Sports Club, which will also see in the inclusion of the new GT2 category next year.

The all-Am championship will visit Monza, Paul Ricard, Spa, Nürburgring and Barcelona as a support to the Blancpain GT Series.

It is down one race from this year, with no return to Misano and the Nürburgring race replacing a round at the Hungaroring.

GT2 competitors will line up alongside the existing GT3 field.

The new class will only run in Blancpain GT Sports Club and British GT next year ahead of a wider roll-out in 2020.
