Zac Anderson got around Kevin Boehm on the final restart of Sunday’s Pirelli GT4 America race to take victory as a solo driver at Road America.

Anderson took his No. 51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 to a 1.429-second win over Boehm’s No. 92 Random Vandals Racing BMW that was started by Kenton Koch in the second and final GT4 America race of the weekend.

A power-related issue for Anderson’s BMW at the start saw the Silver class championship leader briefly drop back but then reel in the leading pack that was led by the pole-sitting No. 999 Hanley Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 of Parker Thompson.

Thompson stretched out into a nearly ten-second lead over the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Kay van Berlo prior to the round of mandatory pit stops, which was interrupted due the No. 09 Zotz Racing Porsche of Eric Zitza in the gravel.

While dashing into the pits prior to the yellow, an issue for the Toyota, in the hands of Hanley, at pit-out, saw the No. 999 car drop behind the then Pro-Am class-leading No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Elias Sabo.

Boehm, meanwhile, assumed the overall lead through the yellow and restart with 13 minutes to go but a move on the inside of Turn 1 put Anderson out front and en route to victory.

Anderson was driving solo due to regular co-driver John Capestro-Dubets ruled out this weekend due to a back injury.

The No. 82 BimmerWorld BMW of James Walker Jr. and Tyler McQuarrie picked up Pro-Am class honors with a third place overall finish, followed by the No. 88 STR38 Motorsports BMW in fourth, which got around Hanley on the final lap for third in Silver.

A late-race pass by Charlie Postins on Rob Walker gave BimmerWorld a double victory on Sunday, with the No. 35 car of Postins and James Clay taking the win in the Am class with a sixth place overall finish.

RESULTS: Race 2
