Matt Brabham topped the timing charts in the second joint Pirelli GT4 America practice session for this weekend’s event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The Australian-American, who is competing in the single-driver GT4 Sprint series, posted a time of 1:42.181 behind the wheel of the No. 20 CRP Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR to go quickest.

This put Brabham 0.121 seconds ahead of the second-placed car in session, which was also the leading car in the two-driver GT4 SprintX field.

This was the No. 89 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4, in which Guy Cosmo – who shares the drive with Patrick Byrne – posted a time of 1:42.302.

Third-quickest overall was Trent Hindman in the No. 77 Park Place Motorsports Porsche that is competing in the GT4 SprintX West championship.

While the single-driver Sprint series has its own races at Las Vegas, the SprintX West series will be sharing the grid with the main SprintX nationwide competition at Las Vegas.

Fourth in the leaderboard was Sprint driver Jade Buford, who registered a 1:42.384 effort in the pink No. 42 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4.

Rounding out the overall top five was Jason Hart in the No. 47 Nolasport Porsche which is entered into the SprintX races as part of the nationwide series.

In the respective sub-classes, Alan Brynjolfsson led the way in Sprint Am, with the Park Place driver – who is also Hindman’s SprintX co-pilot – finishing 11th outright.

Fastest in SprintX Am was GMG Racing’s James Sofronas in a Porsche, while Vesko Kozarov paced SprintX West Am in a Rearden Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4.

GT4 Sprint qualifying is set to get underway at 2:50 p.m. PT, with SprintX qualifying taking place later on at 4:40 p.m.
