Dexter Racing has purchased an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 with plans to run the car in next year’s Pirelli GT4 America championship.
The Nebraskan team has operated a Ginetta G55 GT4 in recent years but will run a car from a different British sports car manufacturer in 2021.
It has yet to confirm any drivers for its program in the two-driver GT4 America series.
Ryan Dexter teamed up with NASCAR driver Cody Ware for this year’s round at Sonoma, while Warren Dexter drove with Ben Anderson at the Circuit of The Americas.
Dexter Racing announced on Monday that it is adding the Aston Martin to its stable for a “multi-faceted attack” on GT4 America, although a program hasn’t been stated for its Ginetta.
The team plans to commence testing with the Vantage GT4 in January and is set to add new engineering staff to assist with the development.
It is also targeting an entry into the new GT America sprint-based series that allows GT3, GT2 and GT4 machinery.
“We plan to build on our 2020 learnings in the series,” said team owner Zane Dexter.
“The team found the Aston Martin platform to be an exceptional choice and we are excited to be in the Aston Martin fold and compete for a championship in 2021.”
