Matheus Leist and Corey Lewis claimed overall poles for this weekend’s pair of season-ending Pirelli GT4 America races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Leist, a two-time Indianapolis 500 starter, took his No. 89 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 to a chart-topping 1:29.887, edging out Kay van Berlo’s Pro-Am championship-leading No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport by 0.138 seconds.
Tyler Gonzalez scooped Silver class pole honors for Race 1 with the third quickest time overall in the No. 68 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO, followed by Michai Stevens, in his return to JMF Motorsports’ Mercedes-AMG in fourth.
The No. 07 Precision Racing LA Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO of Terry Borcheller completed the top-five, with Robb Holland claiming Am class pole in his No. 099 Rotek Racing Porsche.
Q2 saw Lewis take his No. 68 Smooge Racing Toyota to a 1:30.025 lap time to outpace the No. 34 JMF Mercedes-AMG of Jesse Webb by 0.135 seconds.
Dario Capitanio put the No. 102 TPC Racing McLaren Artura GT4 on Pro-Am class pole with the third quickest lap of the session, ahead of Danny Dyszelski’s No. 77 VPX Motorsport Porsche and the Kenton Koch-driven No. 97 Random Vandals Racing BMW, which completed the overall top-five.
Jaden Lander made it a Rotek sweep of poles in the Am class, aboard the team’s No. 099 Porsche.
Race 1 of the weekend gets underway at 8:30 a.m. EDT on Saturday, with the season-ending Race 2 taking the green flag Sunday at 10:35 a.m. Both races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.
