Parker Thompson led the way following the single timed session for Pirelli GT4 America competitors prior to this evening’s first round of the season at Sonoma Raceway.

The Hanley Motorsports driver took his Silver class No. 999 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO to a fast lap of 1:40.846 early in the 45-minute session.

It was 0.492 seconds quicker than the No. 23 TechSport Nissan Z NISMO GT4 of Jonathan Neudorf.

The Pro-Am class-leading No. 89 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Matheus Leist was third overall, followed by Colin Harrison’s No. 22 TechSport Nissan in fourth.

Smooge Racing’s No. 68 Toyota completed the top-five in the session, which ran without any major incidents or red flags.

The No. 20 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M4 GT4 of Terry Borcheller was quickest of the Am class competitors, meanwhile.

Grids for Race 1 and 2 were set based on fastest lap times by each nominated driver, although the session was scored and run in the format of a practice session due to the truncated nature of this weekend, which saw no track action on Thursday and Friday due to emergency track repairs.

Timing and scoring has yet to publish qualifying results for the pair of races, although Thompson’s lap was good enough for pole in Race 2.

Race 1 for GT4 America takes the green flag at 5:50 p.m. PDT (8:50 p.m. EDT) with live coverage on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and on Twitch.

RESULTS: Practice 2
