The schedule for the 2017 GT4 European Series has been confirmed, with the completion of the Northern Cup’s calendar on Friday.
Since the original announcement in July, several changes have been made to the series’ schedule, which, with the Northern and Southern Cups combined, will now feature 12 race weekends in eight different countries.
For the Northern Cup, the dates supporting the Blancpain GT Series at Misano, Brands Hatch and Nürburgring, on April 1-2, May 6-7 and Sept. 16-17 respectively, remain the same as previously announced.
However, the Zandvoort weekend has moved from June 3-4 to support the DTM series on Aug. 19-20.
The previously unconfirmed summer race in Austria or Hungary has been confirmed at the Red Bull Ring on June 10-11, supporting the ADAC GT Masters, while the July round at Spa-Francorchamps has been replaced with a July 15-16 event with the FIA European Truck Racing Championship at the Slovakia Ring.
Meanwhile, the Southern Cup schedule, composed of standalone events, has only had one change, with the Magny-Cours race weekend moving one week later to Sept. 09-10.
In addition, the Southern Cup will also have races at Nogaro, Pau, Dijon, Barcelona and Paul Ricard.
“We are delighted to confirm our calendar for 2017, which includes some of the best racing circuits in Europe,” commented Series Coordinator Max Braams.
“We wanted to make sure our teams will be racing at high-profile events and we managed to do that by supporting the Blancpain GT Series, ADAC GT Masters, DTM and the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. I am looking forward to plenty of racing excitement next year.”
