CBS Sports Network to Broadcast California 8H

CBS Sports Network to carry California 8H live…

CBS Sports Network will televise next month’s inaugural California 8 Hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the third round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, it was announced today.

The event, featuring GT3 and GT4 homologated cars in the third of the four-race championship, will be shown in two portions on the CBSSN, with the start of the eight-hour event from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. EDT and the finish from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. EDT.

In addition, the middle portion, 2 to 7 p.m., of the race will be broadcast worldwide on www.sro-motorsports.com.

The California 8 Hours race is the first event in North America for the IGTC, which debuted last year in an initial three-race series.

The Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour kicked off this year’s championship, followed by the Total 24 Hours of Spa in July and the Motul Sepang 12 Hours set to close out the season on Dec. 9.

“We are excited to bring the SRO Intercontinental GT Challenge to North America and particularly one of the world’s most legendary road circuits in Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca,” said Stephane Ratel, president/CEO of SRO Motorsports.

“Having CBS Sports Network televising the upcoming event will give North American racing fans the opportunity to see some of the world’s best GT racing.”

The announcing lineup for the California 8 Hours will be veterans Greg Creamer, Jeff Lepper, Jeremy Shaw and Shea Adam with pit reporters being Jake Query and Katie Osborne.
