K-PAX Racing continued its dominant form Saturday at Road America, with Andrea Caldarelli and Jordan Pepper taking victory in the first Fanatec GT World Challenge America race of the weekend.

Pepper brought the No. 3 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo to its fifth win of the season under a full course caution following a heavy accident by the Am class-leading No. 61 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Jean-Claude Saada.

It came just as Philip Ellis in the No. 33 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo was closing in on Pepper in the final ten minutes.

The No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo of Dakota Dickerson and Taylor Hagler picked up Pro-Am class honors with a third place finish overall.

It marked the Jon Mirachi-led Racers Edge squad’s first class win of the season.

Corey Lewis and Giovanni Venturini came home fourth in the No. 6 K-PAX Lamborghini, with Michael Di Meo and Matt McMurry completing the top-five and second in Pro-Am in their No. 77 Compass Racing Acura.

A drive-through penalty for a pit lane infringement relegated the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Robby Foley and Michael Dinan to a seventh pace result, behind the No. 20 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Jan Heylen and Fred Poordad.

Dinan ran second in the early stages of the 90-minute contest in a fierce battle with the No. 33 Winward Mercedes of Russell Ward.

However, a slow pit stop dropped the BMW to fourth prior to a one-position recovery by Foley prior to getting hit with a penalty for having wheel-spin while on the car’s jacks during its pit stop.

The No. 9 TR3 Racing Lamborghini of Giacomo Altoe and Martin Fuentes, in his GTWC America driving return, finished eighth overall and fourth in Pr0-Am, followed by the No. 63 DXDT Racing Mercedes of Ryan Dalziel and David Askew.

Race 2 is set for Sunday at 2:15 p.m. CT.
