ABT Motorsport has agreed an increased, multi-year partnership with Lamborghini that will result in the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 making its Nürburgring 24 debut in 2027.

The squad currently runs a pair of Temerarios in the DTM in the car’s first season of competition.

But the team will now tackle the GT Winter Series and Lamborghini Super Trofeo for the first time as part of the expanded agreement.

ABT has also confirmed it will enter two cars into May’s N24 contest having still used the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 this year when it was disqualified from second place for using excessive power output.

“Extending our partnership with Lamborghini on a long-term basis is a very significant step for ABT,” said Thomas Biermaier, CEO of ABT Sportsline.

“Lamborghini is an extraordinary brand with enormous appeal and we are proud not only to continue this collaboration over the coming years, but also to expand it further.

“The first joint DTM season with the Temerario GT3 was an intensive learning year for us in many areas.

“Competing with a completely new car in such a highly competitive championship is a major challenge.

“At the same time, we made a lot of progress during the season, achieved podium finishes and learned a great deal about the car.

“The ambition for 2027 is clear. Together with Red Bull and Lamborghini, we want to fight for the championship again and bring the next title back to Kempten.

“That is why we are deliberately investing heavily in our preparation and will use the GT Winter Series, among other programs, to collect as much valuable race mileage as possible before the start of the season.

“At the same time, the overall program is becoming significantly bigger. With the DTM, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and our entry into the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, a major task lies ahead for the entire team and for our company.

“Together, we want to achieve long-term success and write the next chapters of this collaboration.”

Lamborghini head of motorsport Andrea Reggiani described the expansion of the partnership with ABT as an “important step” for the Italian manufacturer.

“The breadth of this program underlines the high level of mutual trust and our shared long-term perspective,” he added.

While no drivers have yet been confirmed for any of the programs, ABT did say that its lineups will be revealed “soon.”

ABT concluded a 25-year partnership with Audi at the end of 2024 following the German manufacturer’s withdrawal from the sports car arena and instead began running Lamborghinis.

It has so far achieved two podiums in the DTM this year with the Temerario GT3.
