Ferrari squad Arise Racing GT will field Australian stars Will Brown and Chaz Mostert in its Pro entry for the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, it has been announced.
The top two Pro drivers from this year’s Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS season will be joined by Ferrari factory driver Daniel Serra as the team takes on the Intercontinental GT Challenge opener with a pair of 296 GT3s.
Mostert was part of the Arise roster in Fanatec GT Australia season, winning the title together with Liam Talbot, while Brown and his teammate Brad Schumacher finished second overall in their Melbourne Performance Centre-run Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.
The pair have also been fierce rivals in Australia’s Supercars series, with Brown winning the title and Mostert placing third overall behind Broc Feeney.
“I am really excited to join Arise racing GT at the Bathurst 12 Hour,” said Brown. “After Chaz and Liam beat me in the championship this year, I thought If you can’t beat them then you need to join them.
“I have watched Arise throughout the year and have noticed how professional and committed they are to winning which is something that excited me. I can’t wait to get the mountain and have a crack in the Ferrari.”
Arise team principal Jordan Oon added: “It would be fair to say that in Will Brown and Chaz Mostert we have two of the best drivers in Australia right now.
“They raced each other hard in both GT World Challenge and Supercars this year and both are driving better than ever.
“It’s hugely exciting to pair them together for our first attempt at the Bathurst 12 Hour and have a factory Ferrari pilot in the form of Daniel Serra join them.
“It’s the strongest possible combination we could put together. Their combination of local knowledge, international experience, Bathurst success and ability to work with the team ensures we have the best chance to put ourselves in a position to challenge for victory.”
The lineup for Arise’s second entry for the Pro-Am class will be announced later.
