Ferrari Recommits to IGTC in Record Ninth Manufacturer

Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli will feature a record-breaking nine full-season manufacturers in 2020 after Ferrari reconfirmed its commitment to the global GT3 championship ahead of this weekend’s season-opening Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

HubAuto Corsa has again entered a single full-season entry endorsed by the Italian manufacturer, while additional cars are expected to be nominated to score points at each of the remaining four rounds.

The Taiwanese squad claimed victory in last year’s California 8 Hours in March although withdrew from the final two rounds of the season due to accident damage stemming from the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Ferrari joins already announced manufacturer entries from Audi, Bentley, BMW, Honda, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, as well as newcomers Aston Martin and Lamborghini.

The 2019 season featured eight manufacturers, including Nissan, which has yet to declare any potential intentions.

A record total of 33 GT3 cars are on the grid for this weekend’s race at Mount Panorama.
