Andy Soucek’s No. 8 Bentley Continental GT3 is damaged after contact from a GT4 car while battling for second position at the Corkscrew.

The Spaniard went three-wide through the infamous corner while defending from Markus Winkelhock who was attempting to pass him for second position.

The Bentley made contact with the No. 113 RHC Jorgensen-Strom BMW M4 GT4 driven by Daren Jorgensen, and went off track into the gravel at the penultimate corner.

It had been leading the race for a while earlier after benefitting and making up several positions by pitting under a safety car.

Soucek was forced to bring the car into the pits to change its left-rear tire, but the team sent it back out on track despite there appearing to be more damage.

The field is running under the safety car following the accident, with two hours, 30 minutes remaining.

Lewis Williamson leads in the Strakka Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 that he shares with Intercontinental GT Challenge championship leader Raffaele Marciello.

Winkelhock survived the incident without sustaining damage and runs in second position for Audi Sport Team WRT, ahead of the Land Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Christopher Mies.

Nick Leventis is out front in GT3 Pro-Am while James Sofronas has the GT4 class lead.
