Trouble has struck the race-leading No. 912 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R just past the halfway mark in the California 8 Hours.

Dirk Werner brought the car into the pits with no drive, prompting the Ohio-based team to push the car to its pit box and later to the garage.

It marked a significant setback for the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli championship leaders, which won February’s season-opening Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

Team owner John Wright indicated the desire to get the car back on track to help keep Werner and co-drivers Matt Campbell and Dennis Olsen in the points race.

The No. 42 Team Schnitzer BMW M6 GT3 of Chaz Mostert now leads the race, which is yet to complete its fourth scheduled stop.
