Jaxon Bell claimed pole position for the second Toyota GR Cup North America race of the weekend at Virginia International Raceway with a late flyer in his No. 7 Copeland Motorsports Toyota GR86 Cup car.
Spike Kohlbecker jumped to the top of the times early before a late-session improvement from Bell saw the Copeland driver steal pole position by 0.111 seconds over the RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate driver after setting his quick time on his final flying lap.
RVA put a pair of cars in the top three after Will Robusto’s best effort in the No. 2 Toyota saw him a mere 0.028 seconds off of his teammate’s time.
Westin Workman was fourth-fastest overall in the No. 13 BSI Racing GR86 Cup car ahead of Lucas Racing’s Lucas Weisenberg in the No. 46 car.
Ethan Goulart’s TechSport machine finished Qualifying 2 seventh fastest with PT Autosport with Copeland Motorsports’ Max Stallone in eighth.
TechSport’s Max Schweid and Brett Kowalski completed the top ten, respectively.
During the session, the No. 61 Skip Barber Racing entry of James Klimas served a dive-through penalty for a pit lane speed violation. However, no major incidents interrupted the session, which ran green from start to finish.
