Having DXDT Racing run Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS next year is considered a “really important” step for Corvette Racing’s customer relationship with SRO Motorsports Group according to its program manager Christie Bagne.

The American manufacturer completed its 2024 customer allocation with confirmation last week that the David Askew-owned operation will campaign two Z06 GT3.Rs, likely beginning with the series’ third round of the season at Circuit of The Americas in May.

It means Corvette Racing will have customer representation in three series next year, with TF Sport running the manufacturer’s two LMGT3 entries in the FIA World Endurance Championship and AWA campaigning two Z06 GT3.Rs in the GTD class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship alongside the two factory-supported entries run by Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports in GTD Pro.

Speaking with Sportscar365, Bagne stressed the importance of beginning its relationship with SRO, which has a vast global reach of series ranging from Fanatec GT series in Europe, Asia and Australia to the British GT Championship and Intercontinental GT Challenge.

“This was really important to us,” she said. “This is a proper customer GT3 racing program and SRO does such a nice job with customer racing. That was really important to us.

“We want cars running here. We’re certainly looking at possibilities for GT World Challenge Europe as well.

“It’s a nice opportunity to start here. It’s our home market, it’s important to us. We’re an American company.

“Pratt Miller is located in the U.S. and is providing the technical support and our North American parts truck will be ready for the 2024 season.

“It was a really nice fit to deliver these first two SRO Motorsports Group cars in the American series.”

Bagne said members of the DXDT team have already been integrated into the Z06 GT3.R test program during the outing at Road America in August.

“They were able to meet the support personnel, get more familiar with the car and get up to speed with the car on the technical side,” she said. “All of that is really important to us as you’ve seen.

“Now we’re focusing a lot on getting these IMSA and WEC cars shaken down and delivered to those customer teams.

“Then you will see DXDT Racing continue to be integrated into our test program as we lead up to the delivery of the cars.”

While DXDT will be the last of the 2024 customer teams to take delivery of their cars in the spring, Bagne said that 2025 allocations will be delivered in the third and fourth quarters of next year.

She left the door open on the possibility of several 2025 customer teams to give their cars an early debut at the tail end of next year.

“We will continue to be building cars throughout 2024,” Bagne said. “There will be additional deliveries but they’ll be primarily targeted towards full season efforts in 2025.”

When asked if Corvette will place a focus on other SRO series or championships for 2025, Bagne said they’re looking at various “scenarios” but wouldn’t confirm the allocation of cars for Year 2 of the customer program.

“There’s a lot of GT3 volume in Europe and we would like to capitalize on that but understanding different scenarios of how that could look,” she said.
