Alec Udell and Mathieu Jaminet will team up in a GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R in this weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge SprintX round at Circuit of The Americas.
As reported by Sportscar365 earlier this month, the former GT Cup champion had been working on a return to PWC GT competition, alongside Porsche Young Professional Jaminet, who swept the COTA weekend with team owner James Sofronas last year in Pro-Am.
Udell and Jaminet, however, will go for overall honors in the GT Pro class this weekend.
It will be one of four entries fielded by the California-based team, alongside a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT4s and the return of its McLaren 570S GT4, both in GTS SprintX competition.
The No. 41 Porsche will carry primary sponsorship from Loci, a blockchain-based form of cryptocurrency.
“Because of them we will be able to get Mathieu and myself out on the track for the first SprintX weekend at my home circuit,” Udell said.
“I cannot express how thankful I am to have such a dedicated group of people from several organizations working together to accomplish this feat.”
Additional races for the pairing have not yet been confirmed although the Frenchman has been allocated to GMG for the remainder of the SprintX season.
