Gottsacker Paces Mid-Ohio Practice

Harry Gottsacker led a Ginetta 1-2 in Pirelli World Challenge GTS Practice 1 at Mid-Ohio, edging Parker Chase by 0.289 seconds.

Gottsacker’s best lap came on his eighth lap midway through the session in the No. 69 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta G55, while PMG Autosport driver Chase pulled out a late lap to jump to the second spot ahead of the Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R of series points-leader Lawson Aschenbach.

Jeff Courtney and Martin Barkey completed the top-five for JCR Motorsports and Mantella Autosports, respectively.

Mark Kleinin took top honors in the Am subclass, turning in the seventh-fastest overall lap time in the No. 62 McLaren 570 GT4 from KPR. His next closest competitor was Fred Roberts in a JCR Motorsports Maserati in ninth overall.

Qualifying is set for this afternoon beginning at 4:35 p.m. ET.
